Wilma Marie Bergeron

It is with the heaviest hearts that the family announces the passing of Wilma Godeaux Bergeron, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and to all whose lives she touched, on June 11, 2021.

Wilma will be loved and remembered in our hearts forever, especially by her children, Preston Bergeron, of Ragley, Louisiana; Rodney Bergeron, of China; and Jean Bergeron Barnes and her husband, Roger, of Sour Lake. She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Danny Bergeron and his wife, Lisa, of Church Point, Louisiana; Donna Brown and her husband, John, of Eunice, Louisiana; Paula Bergeron, of Eunice, Louisiana; Laura Long and her husband, Willie, of Livingston; Bubba Barnes and his wife, Dana, of Sour Lake; Preston Wayne Bergeron and his wife, Reisha, of Eunice, Louisiana; David Barnes and his wife, Angela, of Marietta, Georgia; Deanna Cudd and her husband, Kevin, of Sour Lake; Katie Boquet and her husband, Bobby, of Eunice, Louisiana; Kevin Barnes and his wife, Triston, of Sour Lake; Joshua Barnes and his wife, Karen, of Lumberton; and Aleena Barnes, of Sour Lake; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Bergeron, Heather Bergeron, Sam Brown, Zack Dupré, Paige Dupré, Joseph Thomas, Amanda Thomas, Dustin Barnes, Cypress Bergeron, Grace, Elijah, Jesse, Jon Silas Barnes, Kennedy Cudd, Cameron Cudd, Emily Cudd, Henry Boquet, Penelope Boquet, Valerie Boquet, Addilyn Barnes, Brylee Brown, Averie Brown, Drake Brown, and Mikayla Dupré.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Verlie Joseph Bergeron; parents, Joseph and Marie Godeaux; and grandson, Rodney Bergeron, Jr.

At the request of the family, a gathering of Mrs. Bergeron’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at China Cemetery.
