Ysidro John Rodriguez

Ysidro John Rodriguez, 81, of Silsbee, died Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Silsbee Oaks Health Care. He was born September 1, 1939, in Silsbee, to Otilia Gonzalez Rodriguez and Isidro Rodriguez.

He was a United States Army veteran. Ysidro was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Silsbee. He was a big Silsbee Tiger’s fan and a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mark’s Council, #8594. Ysidro retired from MeadWestvaco as a millwright after over fifty years of employment. He enjoyed gardening and piddling around the house. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandpa, and Paw Paw.

Ysidro is survived by his daughters, Esther Tilghman and her husband, Allen, of Leesville, Louisiana; Rebekka Wright and her husband, William Daniel, of Silsbee; Maja Pollock and her husband, Aaron, of Sour Lake; son, Benjamin Rodriguez and his wife, Tobetha, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Allen Michael, Autumn, Spencer, Gavin, Malena, Natalya, Iliana, and Genevieve; great-granddaughter, Sadie; sister-in-law, Pam Rodriguez of San Antonio; numerous nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over fifty-five years, Roswitha Rodriguez; grandson, Trey Tilghman; and brothers, Manuel, Rito, Serafin, Jesse, and Joe Rodriguez.

A gathering of Mr. Rodriguez’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with his Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His funeral service, with military honors, will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Broussard’s, Silsbee, with his interment to follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Silsbee.
