Yvonne Sherrill

Yvonne Sherrill, 83, of Winnie, died Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Riceland Medical Center, Winnie. She was born on October 7, 1936, in Wharton, to Minnie Ridenour Bennetsen and Emil Asea Bennetsen. Yvonne enjoyed cooking, going to Winnie Trade Days, and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She loved all of her ducks, chickens, and Emus, especially Tiny, her favorite Emu. Yvonne also enjoyed collecting antiques and elephant figurines.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Earl Lloyd Sherrill; son, Kevin Sherrill, of Bridge City; grandchildren, Tyler Ladner and his wife, Lisa, of Port Neches and Kaylon Brack and her husband, Ryan, of Orangefield; great-grandchildren, Kortni Gunn; Kamryn Brack; Jenna Ladner; and Madilyn Brack; sister, Gaynell Koehn, of Colorado; nieces, Cyndi Thornton and her husband, Steve and Terri King and her husband, Richard; and nephews, Michael Koehn and his wife, Stephanie and Mark Koehn and his wife, Tiffany.
She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Gayla Sherrill.
A gathering of Mrs. Sherrill’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Hope Lutheran Church, 1322 9th Street, Winnie. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.

I remember all the fish fry's at my Daddy’s house, Leonard Rooks. A lot of fish stories., who caught the biggest fish. Fun times with family and friends.
