Hayden Lee Leonard
Hayden Lee Leonard died peacefully while surrounded by his family at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas, on January 14, 2025. Born just one day earlier weighing a perfect 7 pounds, 6 ounces, not a single moment of Hayden’s life passed where he was not showered with an abundance of overwhelming love until he passed gently while wrapped in the warmth of his father’s arms.
Hayden is the son of James and Christina Leonard of Kingwood. While awaiting his arrival, Hayden kept his mom entertained with endless kicks and frequent bouts of the hiccups. At birth, it was obvious to all who love him that he looked just like his four older siblings. He had steely blue eyes, perfect little hands with long fingernails, the sweetest lips and his mama’s recessed chin. Despite everyone’s hopes that Christina’s beautiful red hair would someday be passed to one of their children, Hayden followed in his siblings footsteps and had the same brown hair as their daddy. Although he was a peaceful baby, Hayden was uncertain about his first bath but quickly settled down when he was again cozy in a swaddled blanket. Hayden’s life was short, but his family made him feel a lifetime’s worth of love during their time with him, never once putting him down or taking a break from their total adoration.
Hayden’s memory will live on in the hearts of his loving parents; his siblings, Kensington, Shepherd, Harper and Wilder; and a plentitude of family and friends. During his time with his family, Hayden was dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ and received the Holy Baptism. The profound loss of precious Hayden is only matched by the infinite love we feel for him.
“And if you were with me tonight,
I’d sing to you just one more time,
A song for a heart so big,
God wouldn’t let it live,
May angels lead you in.”
Hayden’s funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
