Ailcy Helen Sonnier
Ailcy Helen Sonnier, 99, died on December 22, 2021. She was born on August 22, 1922, to Minnie and Vernon Ewell, in Chromo, Colorado. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Fannett for about 40 years. She retired from UTMB- Galveston, where she was an EKG Tech and unit secretary for 20 years. She loved reading, bowling and listening to gospel music. She loved to do crossword and word search puzzles in her spare time. She was a Dallas Cowboy and Texas Rangers fan. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
During World War II, Ailcy, was one of Rosy the Riveters, she helped to build aircrafts.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Sonnier; niece, Judy Amon for her special care; son in law Dale Jones; seven grandkids; thirteen great grandchildren; and eleven great- great grandchildren.
Ailcy is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Mac Sonnier; her parents, Minnie and Vernon Ewell; best friend and sister, Jean Amon; three sons, Maxi Sonnier, Tommy Sonnier, and Richard Sonnier and daughter, Glennis Jones.
A gathering of Mrs. Sonnier’s family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 24, 2021, First Baptist Church, 17019 Highway 124, Beaumont, and her funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m., with her interment to follow at Wilkinson Cemetery, Mauriceville.
