He made polymer clay art themed in nature and would use pieces from nature, but only if they had already fallen on the ground. Alan also made pottery. He had a dry sense of humor, loved his family, and was a good friend and kind spirited. All of his artwork was donated to Lamar University, and they are going to have a showcase of his work at a later date with Artists of Southeast Texas at Lamar University.

Survivors include his mother, Betty Jean Heald of Beaumont; sister, Linda Martin and her husband, Chad, of Beaumont; nieces and nephews, Kassie Heald of Kemp, Ty Heald of Emery, Micah Jones of Beaumont and Miles Jones of Sugar Hill, Georgia; and numerous loved ones, colleagues, and friends throughout the years.

Alan is my 2nd cousin. Thanks so much for the photo and information. I just located this. I have been in contact with Betty, his mom, and another family member Sandra , but not him. Only through genealogy research. His photo I added to my Family tree along with Broussards Crematorium as provider. Thanks Again Mary Ann Johnson
