Alecia Raye Kyler

September 21, 1977 - June 19, 2021

Alecia Raye Kyler, 43, of Nederland, was called home by her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 19, 2021. She was born September 21, 1977, in Port Arthur, to Nora Ellen Lofton Kyler and Elmo Knox Kyler III.

Alecia graduated from Nederland High School and attended Lamar University where she obtained a degree in criminal justice. She was a devoted Christian who loved and served the Lord. Alecia’s church home was the Golden Triangle Church on the Rock in Beaumont.

Those who knew Alecia remember her beautiful smile. She had a great wit and sense of humor. She loved movies and music, reading, fitness walking, and sports. Her favorite professional teams were the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans, but she also loved high school football. Alecia was also passionate about politics and social issues. She let her voice be heard with authority tempered in grace.

Alecia leaves behind her mother, Ellen Kyler, of Nederland; father, Bubba Kyler and wife, Terri, of Groves; stepsister, Lindsay Potter, of Houston; and grandparents, John and Mary Lofton, of Groves. She also leaves a large family of loving aunts and uncles: Greg Kyler and wife, Tina; Jeff Kyler and wife, Pam; Karen Smith and husband, Rick; and Danette Paschall and husband, Greg. In addition, Alecia leaves many cousins who were like her brothers and sisters: Shane Dorsey and wife, Latonya; Shané Denman and husband, Billy; Kelley Tomlin and husband, Jeremy; Amber Corbett and husband, Ben; Garrett Kyler and wife, Kyndel; Tiffany Martin and husband, Scott; Marcus Kyler and wife, Lindsey; Kimberly Rodgers and husband, Sam; Blake Salem and wife, Emily; Aaron Salem; Chrissy Aylor and husband, Thomas, as well as her beloved larger extended family.

A gathering of Miss Kyler’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2021, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
