Alfred “Vic” Victor Hubert, Jr.
Alfred “Vic” Hubert, Jr., 90, of LaBelle, died Wednesday, July 24, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born October 3, 1933, to Inez Robin Hubert and Alfred Victor Hubert, Sr.
Vic was a native of Nederland, Texas, later moving his family to LaBelle.
Joining the U.S. Army at the age of 22, he was extremely proud of serving his country.
Marrying our Mom in 1957, spending 66 years with the love of his life; he loved our Mom so much he could not spend more than 24 days away from her before joining her in heaven – together again.
Vic was a loving husband, father, Paw-Paw, and big Paw-Paw, so very proud of his children. But oh, when those grandbabies came along… and then those great grandbabies. His love grew even bigger. If big Paw-Paw was around, no one could hold his babies. He loved to lay on the floor and play with them. He was awaiting his first great-great grandbaby due this September.
In his early years, Dad was a fireman for the Nederland Fire Department, then he went on to be a short haul truck driver which he loved so much.
He was an extremely intelligent and talented man, being frugal, he always figured out a way to build the things we needed.
He was also an extremely hard-working man, raising his children to be the same. He had a great love for many things; sharing his love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and raising cattle and pigs with his son were just a few. When we asked him if we could have a horse, he would say, “If we have to feed it, it has to feed us.” We never got that horse!
He was very proud of his successful Christmas Tree Farm, providing Christmas trees to many families and schools for miles around.
He worked so hard to provide for his family, never too tired to help anyone.
His love grew in his later years for his truck, tractor, and oh that Gator. If you drove through their neighborhood, you would most likely see Daddy and Mamma on the Gator, picking up aluminum cans that his neighbors would save for him. Mashing aluminum cans and selling them was his biggest passion over the past several years. Not only did he enjoy the task, but he knew that he was making money to continue providing for his family.
We will forever miss our Daddy, but we are at peace knowing that he is in heaven with the love of his life, which is exactly where he wants to be.
Survivors include his son, Victor Allen Hubert and wife, Lisa; daughter, Sheila Moore and husband, Sherman; granddaughters, Stephanie Moore-Malmstrom and husband, Branden, and Kara Moore; and great grandchildren, Anniston Malmstrom, Mason Malmstrom, Tatum Malmstrom, Craig Dodds, and Caydence Dodds; brother, Dave Hubert and wife, Ginny.
