Alice Ashy

September 15, 1930 - December 8, 2021

Alice Ashy, 91, of Charlotte North Carolina, died Wednesday, December 8, 2021. She was born on September 15, 1930 and spent most of her life between Silsbee and Beaumont, Texas.

Survivors include her son, Paul Ashy and his wife, Joy; daughter, Bernadette Walton and her husband, Douglas; sons, George Ashy and Louis Ashy; former daughter-in-law, Terri Ashy; grandchildren, Emily and Todd Wilkinson, Elizabeth and Mitchell Marcello, Natalie and Reinhard Michel, Courtney and Max Hauser, Madison and Hunter Bromby, Jonathan and Yalonda Ashy, George, Angela, Dustin, Amanda, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Drake, Nikolai, and Luca; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lora Louise Swearingen and George Levi Durham; husband, George Maurice Ashy; sister, Juanita Durham; brother, George L. Durham, Jr.; daughter-in-laws, Brenda Ashy and Amelia Ashy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10306; Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000 Boone, North Carolina 28607; or Hospice at hpccr.org – Charlotte Region.

A gathering of Mrs. Ashy’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2021, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
