Allen C. Cathey

Allen C. Cathey, 77, of Winnie, died Monday, October 27, 2025. He was born on February 7, 1948, in Dalhart, to Robbie Marriott and Floyd E. Cathey.

Allen loved playing cards, golfing, bowling, shooting pool, bingo, hunting, and fishing. He loved putting puzzles together and cooking soup, sharing it with everyone. Allen also loved dogs, giving treats to all the dogs he could.

Survivors include his sister, Nancy Carter and her husband, John, of Winnie; stepbrother, Richard Bryce and his wife, Marilyn, of Peggs, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Clovis Cathey, Joy Shelton, Kenneth Cathey, Mary Jean Ruff, Paul Cathey, and Wanda Bryce; step siblings, Ruby Ellen Barrett, Jean Phelps, Naomi Smith, Faye Kunefke, Lonnie Bryce, George Bryce, and Roger Bryce.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society- Southeast Texas, 2050 Spindletop Avenue, Beaumont and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

A gathering of Mr. Cathey’s family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with his interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
