Anita Bradford Smith

August 10, 1944 - December 5, 2021

Anita Bradford Smith, 77, of Beaumont, Texas, was received into Heaven on Sunday, December 5, 2021.

She was born on August 10, 1944, in Muroc, California, to the union of Spencer DeBrock “Pete” Bradford and Audrey Oleta Smith.

Anita spent her time loving life and her family especially spending time with the love of her life, Richard. Together they lived a life of happiness and laughter. She became a hairdresser right after high school and continued in her trade for 58 years owning her own salon Anita’s Shear Image in Beaumont. She enjoyed spending her time with family at the beach house, cooking, and loved trips to the casino. She will be remembered as a loving Wife, Mother, and Mawmaw. She passed on many family traditions that will be continued for generations to come.

Mrs. Smith was proceeded in death by her parents; sister, Lena Lajuana Bradford Sanderfer; daughter, Pamela Roberts Denton; son, Lenny Smith; and great-grandson, Logan Shriner.

Those left to love and miss her are her husband of 41 years, Eugene Richard Smith, Jr.; daughters, Yalanda Roberts Reeves and husband, Cliff, of Bridge City, TX; Lanna Roberts Mull, of Fannett, TX; Pam Franklin and husband, Keavin, of Buna, TX; Elizabeth Barron and husband, Gene, of Buna, TX; and Theresa Taylor, of Nederland, TX; sisters, Phyllis Bradford Stevenson of Jena, LA; Camellia Bradford Lonigro of Monroe, LA; Suzette Bradford Coleman and husband, Buddy, of Walker, LA; and Colette Bradford Fisher and husband, Johnny, of Bush, LA; grandchildren, Tiayali Mull; James DeBrock “JD” Mull and wife, Ariana; Peighton Palermo; Ashley Shriner and husband, Nathan; Haleigh LeBlanc, Spencer Sebastian and husband, Seth; Logan Crooks and husband, Coby; Zach Smith and wife, Katie; Chloe Smith; Mallory Rojas and husband, Christian; Jonathan Knoblock and wife, Brittany, Nick Barron and wife, Kamryn; Jared Rankin and wife, Baileigh; and Jessica Murphy and husband, Zack; and great-granddaughter, Carsyn Lynch and 19 other great-grandchildren. As well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be James DeBrock “JD” Mull, Seth Sebastian, Coby Crooks, Eric Lonigro, Kyle Lonigro, Daniel Coleman, Seth Coleman, Jeremy Fisher, Blake Phillips, Zach Smith, Jonathan Knoblock, Nick Barron, Jared Rankin, and honorary pallbearer, Howard Tadlock.

A gathering of Mrs. Smith’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. An additional gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Hixon Brothers Funeral Home, 11886 Highway 84, Jena, Louisiana. Her graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Pine Grove Cemetery, 979 Blade Loop, Jena, Louisiana, with B.W. Ewing, Jr. officiating.

    Anita was a beautiful, sweet woman. She had the resources to allow my Mom as a hairdresser to raise my brother and me. She will be missed but now she’s in Heaven with Mom. Love and prayers for your whole family. Always.
