Anita Hennigan

July 9, 1951 - September 17, 2021

Anita Philen Hennigan, 70, of Bridge City, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, at Christus Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont. She was born July 9, 1951, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, to Hazel Mae Jowers Philen and Albon Milton Philen.

Anita was employed with Bridge City Independent School District for twenty-years as a custodian. She enjoyed watching football, especially the Bridge City Cardinals and the Texans. She loved cooking, so much so that every weekend she would cook like it was Thanksgiving. Most of all, Anita adored her grandson.

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Prevost and husband, Brian, of Orange; grandson, Adam Prevost; son, David Hennigan, of Bridge City; and brothers, Hershel Philen and wife, Janet and El Ray Philen and wife, Bobbie, all of Bridge City.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Evelyn Broussard.

A memorial service for Ms. Hennigan will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 27, 2021, at First Church of the Nazarene, 3810 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Orange. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
