Annie Lou Lester
Annie Lou Lester, 80, of Beaumont, died Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was born January 20, 1941, in Galveston, Texas, to John Jack and Martha Carlene Hobson. Ms. Lester was a dedicated educator for over 40 years, teaching English and Drama.
Survivors include two sons, James Lester of Beaumont and Steven Lester of Vidor; two daughters, Lora Niquette Crain and spouse, Brock of Beaumont and Kimberly Gose and spouse, Kregg of Kentucky; grandsons, Joshua Lester and spouse, Joseph Piazza, Jonathan Lester, Larry Lester, and Travis Piazza; granddaughters, Jessica Lester, Sierra Lester, Sabrina Heggins, Peyton Kovatch, and Morgan Gose; great-granddaughters, Blakley, Avery, Adrianna, Kinley, and Lily; great-grandson, Jackson; brothers, Obie Burrow and Danny Shannon; and nieces Judy Kapchinski-Brenham, Susannah Compton-Houston and Charmane Walton.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Alane Lester; nephew, Henry “Bubba” Hughes; and sister, Nancy Wright Hughes.
A private gathering of Ms. Lester’s family will take place. Her cremation arrangements will be held through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

I will never forget Ms. Lester! I was one of her students at Cathedral in middle school & high school. She loved telling stories about her past & her family, & we loved listening.
I know she will be greatly missed! Praying for her family.

I am sorry to hear of Aunt Annie’s passing. I regret that I was never able to meet her in person, but she was loved no less. Her photo slide show brought me so much joy, smiles, and tears; as she resembles my own Granny Nanny, Nancy Wright Freeman Hughes. It truly is amazing how similarities run in the genes, even though they were separated. My prayers and love goes to the family in this mournful time.
Mom was so grateful to have gotten to meet your granny nanny. She talked of their visit months and months afterward. We all could not get over the similarities in their features.
