Annie Lou Rushing

April 27, 1933 - May 21, 2022

Annie Lou Rushing, 89, of Baytown, died Saturday, May 21, 2022.  She was born on April 27, 1933, in Taylorsville, Mississippi, to Alice Sanford Atchley and David Preston Atchley.

Mrs. Rushing lived most of her adult life in the Houston/Baytown area.  She was a faithful member of First Apostolic Church of Highlands for many years until her health declined.  Mrs. Rushing was a kind, praying, Godly lady, who loved God, her family, and her friends dearly.  She had one grandchild, Ava, whom she was very close to and loved with all her heart.  They shared many wonderful memories together.  Anyone who knew Mrs. Rushing loved her.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be missed greatly.

Survivors include her daughter, Mitzi Fletcher and her husband, Dustin of Lake Charles; granddaughter, Ava Overby of Lake Charles; sister, Rachel Butcher of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Rushing, Jr.; son, Kenneth Rushing; and sister, Allien Stovall.

A gathering of Mrs. Rushing’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, at First Apostolic Church of Highlands, 1211 South Main Street, Highlands, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, in Crosby.

The family of Mrs. Rushing would like to thank First Apostolic Church of Highlands and First Apostolic Church of Moss Bluff for all their love, support, and prayers during this time.
