Anthony "Tony" M. Padilla

April 1, 1943 - December 15, 2020

Anthony “Tony” M. Padilla, 77, of Beaumont passed peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He was born April 1, 1943, in Beaumont, to Guadalupe Medina and Martin Padilla, Sr. 

Loving Husband, Dad, and Gramps; known for his hilarious sense of humor, comical stories and jokes; enjoyed watching westerns on t.v., loved to go fishing and to barbeque for others; lifelong career as an Auto Paint and Body Professional.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-six years, Rose Gracia Padilla; children, Rose A. “Tonette” Padilla; Donna Padilla-Sauceda and her husband, Angel; Anthony “Toñon” Padilla, Jr. and his wife, Juanita; Tricia “Ribsy” Padilla and her spouse, Moses Orihuela; John “Chris” Padilla; Janet Padilla-Sanchez and her spouse, Jose Sanchez; and Rosemary Padilla; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; sister, Lucy De La Fuente; brothers, Manuel Padilla, Sr. and his wife, Frances and Richard Padilla and his wife, Amelia; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe Medina and Martin Padilla, Sr.; grandson, Jason Henry Hebert; brothers, Paul Padilla, Frank Padilla, Don Padilla, Henry Padilla, Martin Padilla Jr.; and sister, Jessie Medina. 

A Rosary will be recited for Mr. Padilla on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont at 6:00 p.m., with a Time of Sharing and Gathering of Family and Friends immediately following until 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 767 Avenue A, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.

Dear Lucy, Manuel and Richard, I am so sorry that you lost another brother. Martin and I were in the same grade, Tony a few years younger and I well remember so many in the Padilla family. We were blessed with lots of brothers and sisters but each one who goes on before us leaves such a big hole. I've thought of you often through the years. Guess that is why I read the obituaries..
