Antonio Ceja Figueroa

Antonio Ceja Figueroa, 85, of Hamshire, died Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. He was born December 18, 1935, in Cotija, Michoacán, Mexico, to Elvira Ceja and Benjamin Figueroa.

Antonio was a longtime faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Port Arthur. He owned Antonio’s Liquor Store, Port Arthur for over thirteen years. Antonio enjoyed working on his ranch and tending to livestock and was a well-known welder in the Port Arthur area.

He is survived by his children, Carmela Figueroa Hardy and husband, James, of Port Arthur; Martha Figueroa Lara, of Mexico City, Mexico; Graciela Pompa and husband, Jose, of Fannett; Esperanza Rodriguez and husband, Mario, of Fannett; Antonio Figueroa and wife, Monserratt, of Port Arthur; and Danny Figueroa and wife, Ashley, of Sugarland; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and siblings, Fidelia, Josefina, Consuela, Theresa, Celia, Alicia, Alfonso, and Roberto Figueroa.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of sixty-four years, Maria Figueroa; and brothers, Gonzalo and Ruben Figueroa.

A gathering of Mr. Figueroa’s family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., Friday, October 29, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3648 61st Street, Port Arthur, with his interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
