Arthur Pender, Sr.

Arthur Garfield Pender, Sr., 80, of Kountze, died Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Christus Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born April 12, 1942, in Kountze, to Mae Thelma Hargraves Pender and William Christopher Pender.

Arthur retired from Kirby Lumber Company as a welder after over twenty-five years of service. He was always a hard worker and could build and fix anything. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he also enjoyed working on cars and piddling. Arthur will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandpa, and Paw Paw G.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna Ledet and husband, Clarence, of Vidor; sons, Arthur “Buddy” Pender, Jr. and wife, Deni, of Kountze and Danny Pender and wife, Sandra, of Saratoga; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Ray Pender; wife of over twenty-five years, Faye Pender; brothers, Donald Mills and Ray and Robert Pender; sister, Robbie Morse; granddaughter, Chelsea Rossi; and grandson, Arthur “Trey” Pender III.

A gathering of Mr. Pender’s family and friends will begin 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
