Audrey Jean Stephens

Audrey Stephens, 86, died December 6, 2021. She was born on December 12, 1934, to Leona Angeline Durand and Albert Joseph Stadler, in Faribault, Minnesota. Audrey was a nurse’s aide, in the health care field, where she cared for others.  She worked at several hospitals in the area over the years.  She also took care of terminally ill patients in their homes for many years.  Audrey loved dogs and had many over the years.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, and feeding others.  Her banana bread and chocolate chip cookie recipes are the best.  She also enjoyed her coffee and cigarettes and scary movies.  She loved her family more than anything else and did everything she could for them.

Survivors include her five children, Richard Eckhart and his wife, Cynthia, of Pflugerville, Texas; Danny Stephens and his wife, Susan, of Round Rock, Texas; Stephanie Henley and her husband, Eddie, of Silsbee, Texas; Lisa Sedtal and her husband, Christopher, of Nederland, Texas; and Sharmon Savoie and her husband, Tommy, of Beaumont ,Texas; grandchildren, Reyna, Ricky, Ryan, Ricky, Stacie, Benjamin, Steven, Nathan, and Emily;  great grandchildren, Mary, Heather, Aleyna, Gavin, Nathan, Madison, Reece, and Kennedy; siblings, Kenneth Stadler; Ronald Stadler; and Patty Knott.

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, Leona and Albert Stadler; husband, James Stephens, and 12 siblings.

A gathering of Mrs. Stephens family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Ave, Nederland, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery, Port Neches.
