It was always a pleasure to see both of you, Darlene and Barbara, always together. Every time after highschool you two beautiful girls were always together. Sisters are our lifetime friends, that is for certain.
We were in school together from elementary to highschool. Our days of riding the school bus were many yet seem like it wasn’t as long ago as it really has been.
Last time I saw you Barbara, it was at our 50 year class reunion. We had our picture taken with neighborhood friends. I’m sorry I didn’t make it to your service. I certainly wanted to be there.
My brother-in-law passed away February 2nd and his service was February 15Th at Broussard’s on Major Dr as well just a week ago yesterday.
Just like you and Darlene are so very close in heart and spirit, my sister Alexis and I are too.
Barbara you were always beautiful and as kind as you were way back in elementary school.
I was taken a back to hear of your passing. Praying for your family and friends whom all love you dearly. May your memory live on in our hearts. Rest in eternal peace dear Barbara.

To my sweet first grade friend, I could write a book of all the adventures, sad times, and happy times the two of us have shared. We went to Amelia, Jr. Hi, Forest Park, and Lamar together and shared the same faith. We were in each other’s weddings and also became widows. I have hundreds of stories from age 6 to 70, which I will hold so dear as sweet memories. You were such a great talker and listener. I will miss you so, but I know we always wanted nothing but the best for each other and I know you now have the best. You always told me if time went by and we hadn’t talked, “We just pick up where we left off”! The sadest day for me was Monday when I marked you off my prayer list. We were always praying for each other. You had such a big heart and it was so SWEET! When we were little, I would say I wanted blue eyes and you would say you wanted brown eyes. Not many can say that they’ve had a friendship for as long as us, and I’m so thankful for what we had my sweet and beautiful FRIEND. So this is not good bye, it’s I’ll see you later, Barbara Ann. I love you. Judy

    Lois Brumley says:

I send my prayers out to the family, may you all find comfort in God’s word. God said in his word; a believers absence from the body is in the presence of our Lord. Stay connected to our power source, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
One day we will say” Howy – howdy ! and Never good- bye. This is just a see you later. She has taken rest from her labor. Hallelujah!
