Barbara Elliott Auch

Barbara Elliott Auch, 78, of Silsbee, died Saturday, August 7, 2021. She was born on June 26, 1943, in Beaumont, to Rosie Lee Hight and Jesse Lee Elliott. She was a retired letter carrier with the United States Postal Service.

Barbara had been a longtime member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Silsbee. She enjoyed flowers, shopping, animals and loved her grandchildren dearly. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandma.

She is survived by her husband, of thirty-one years, Lester Auch; daughters, Shelly Suire and her husband L.J., of Port Neches and Sheila Burrell and her husband, Randy, of Warren; son, Rob Sanchez and his wife, “Cookie”, of Thicket; stepdaughter, Irene Himebaugh, of Houston; grandchildren, Amber, Katelyn, Dara, Jessica, Grayson, Marc, Brooke, Tiffany, and Justin; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Melba Moses, of Houston and Glenda Jordan, of Silsbee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Barbara will be especially missed by her faithful feline companion, Kit Kat.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Sidney and Darrell Elliott; and stepson David Auch.

A gathering of Mrs. Auch’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1305 Roosevelt Drive, Silsbee. Her graveside service will be Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
