Barbara Jean Hayes

January 7, 1931 - March 4, 2025

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

    Linda,

I would like to send my deepest sympathy to you and your family. You may not remember me but we went to FHS together, graduated at the same time, and worked in the Pharmacy at Baptist Hospital. Oh, and lived in a 3 bedroom apartment at Gaylynn Apartments with your sister.

Your Mom was such a nice lady. She will surely be missed. If I can help in any way please email me. Would love to see you.

    Prayers,
    Cheryl

Mike, so many prayers for you and your family at this time! Barbara was such a joy to be around – we always felt like she was our family along with your dad – I didn’t really know any different until I was older! But in my heart she will always be family! Her and mom had a lifetime of love an friendship along with great memories. I always love to hear their stories. Our camping trips to holidays we spent together are the best memories to me!
Your mom always making jokes that brought so much laughter! Even in times of sadness, she always knew the words that brought joy and meaning to every situation! If something wasn’t right, are we were sick mom was on the phone calling her- here she would come, sometimes with a big needle of anabiotic’s! Dad would say we would glue our butts to a chair , afraid of who is going to get the next shot! When mom and dad’s house caught fire, she dropped everything and was there for them the whole time! ! She would pick mom up for church when she knew moms mind was declining… I just don’t know what we would’ve done without her… She is truly an angel! May your memories bring you joy an comfort…Love you all!

So sorry for the loss of your mother, mother in law, grandmother and aunt. She was a sweet lady who we grew up knowing. As we grew to adults we found she was a mess and fun to be around. We will miss her!

Barb was first a colleague of mine covering a private duty case in the late 1990’s. She was a wonderful, caring, and compassionate nurse. I was lucky enough to cross paths with her again about 8-9 years ago. We enjoyed many lunch dates and shopping trips. I’ll never forget the time she got stuck in a shirt while trying it on in Marshall’s ( I thought I’d never get her out). What a joyous moment it must have been when Barbara, Herman, and their daughter were reunited in Glory land. Barbara was a hoot and I will never forget her. Rest easy friend.
