Barbara Jean Holbert, 86, of Silsbee, died Thursday, July 4, 2024. She was born on May 15, 1938, in Houston, to Frances and William J. Campbell.
Survivors include her children, Jeannie Holbert and her partner, Judy Partin, of Conroe; James N. Holbert, Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Houston; Mark S. Holbert and his wife, Dionne, of Sugarland; and Scott A. Holbert and his wife, Susan, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Michael Holbert and his partner, Dante, of Pearland; Christopher Holbert of Houston; Patrick Holbert and his wife, Yazmin, of Jamestown, North Carolina; Nicholas Holbert and his wife, Monica, of Houston; Lauren Holbert of Bryan; Joshua Holbert of The Woodlands; Jordan Rhea and her husband, Kendrick, of Missouri City; Jacob Holbert and his wife, Alexis, of Memphis, Tennessee; Alicia Jaramillo of Kountze; Ashlyn Strickland and her husband, Hunter, of Bryan; Collin Holbert and Kaitlyn Holbert, both of Sugarland; and great-grandchildren, Samuel, Bailee, Mavie, Marissia, Teal, Sora, Dillon, and Vada. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Holbert, Sr.; stepfather, Noah Carrier; and Aunt, Gracie Mae Baile.
A gathering of Mrs. Holbert’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Southeast Texas, 2050 Spindletop Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77705.

Mr. Scott Holbert, with my deepest heartfelt sympathy I offer you my condolences for the loss of your beloved Mother. I never had the privilege to meet your Mother but I definitely felt I knew her from our conversations. I truly believe that she is rejoicing with our Lord and savior and free of pain and suffering. I know she is proudly looking down on you and your siblings and marveling at the wonderful people you have become. Keep your head up and know in your heart she is in a better place.
