Barbara Nell Hussey

December 26, 1952 - September 20, 2022

Barbara Nell (Walton) Hussey, 69, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, September 20, 2022. She was born on December 26, 1952, in Center, to Minnie Estelle Griffin Walton and Thomas Leon Walton.

Barbara was the youngest daughter of Leon and Estelle Walton and the glue of our Walton clan. She was foremost a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother (BB). She had a heart of gold and was a fighter until the end.

On September 20, shortly after noon, Jesus called her home. She has joined the ranks of those who went before her. What a glorious homecoming celebration we are sure she had.

She leaves behind her son, John Hussey and his wife, Tammy; daughter, Jincy Lindsey and her husband, John; son, Tony Hussey; grandchildren, Cody Hussey and his wife, Brittney; Ashlee Ocampo and her husband, David; Skyler Hussey, and Karlee Hussey; great-grandchildren, Jaythenn, Gannon, Hadlee, Luna and Emilio; and many other family members.

Family was the most important part of her life. Even with such an extended family, she knew all of their names and loved getting caught up on the news of how everyone was doing. She made everyone feel special and always cared more about others than herself.

Any remembrance for Barbara can be carried out in two ways, 1. Listen and spend time with your loved ones, then hug them and tell them you love them. 2. A donation to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, Illinois 60601 or the Valley Fever Americas Foundation, 283 Oak Ct, Shafter, California 93263.

Ms. Hussey’s committal will be handled by Broussard’s Crematorium.
