Baylor Wesley Briggs

July 9, 2021 - November 8, 2021

Baylor Wesley Briggs, infant son of Brittany Colvin Briggs and Travis Briggs, went to heaven on Monday, November 8, 2021.  He was born on July 9, 2021, in Beaumont.

Baylor was God’s blessing to the Briggs and Colvin families. He was prayed for, loved and cherished. Many did not have the opportunity to meet him, but he was a simple, happy baby who never cried unless he was hungry. Baylor could bring life to a room with the love and happiness that surrounded him. His sweet smile, round cheeks and dimples would melt any heart that held his sweet soul. His love for his mother, dad, and big sister Brynlee showed through in his eyes.

God has a plan and purpose for all of us. Baylor was God’s perfect son and too perfect for this world. He is in heaven now, surrounded by many loved ones holding him dear. It is too easy to be angry at God in times like these, but it is now that we should let God into our hearts. We would have taught Baylor many things in life, but the most important would be “Let God lead, live spiritually, love strongly, listen kindly and act Godly”. Relinquish your pain and open your hearts and let Baylor teach us these things from his perfect place in heaven. Baylor lives on within each of us and instills hope that we can each live our lives looking upward to God, seeking strength in God’s love. Until we meet again my boy.

Survivors include his parents; sister, Brynlee Ava Briggs; grandparents, Carol and Gene Colvin of Silsbee and Evelyn and Pat Briggs of Fannett; great-grandparents, Martha Colvin of Silsbee and Annie Comiskey of Port Neches; aunts and uncles, Kailey Balla and her husband, Cody and Dylan Colvin, all of Silsbee; Tyler Briggs and his wife, Whitney, of Fannett; and Grant Briggs of Cumming, Georgia; and numerous cousins and other family members.  He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Ava and Hal Arlan, Selvin “Pa” Colvin, Piggie and John Briggs, and Bill Comiskey.

A gathering of Baylor’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His interment will follow at Hardin Memorial Park, Silsbee.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

While you grieve, know you are not alone. God invites you to “Throw all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”(1 Peter 5:7) He promises to “Swallow up death forever.”(Isaiah 25:8) Then you will have the hope of seeing your loved one again for the Bible confirms “There is going to be a resurrection.”(Acts 24:15) For more scriptural encouragement, please visit JW.ORG

    My condolences to the Family.

Brittany and Travis, my sincerest condolences! You are in my prayers. Psalms 23 is another Psalm that assures me that you are not alone as you go through this; God is with you. I know you are hurting, missing Baylor, and I wish mere words could help ease your pain. Until you are reunited again with Baylor in Heaven, may God’s Love and assurance carry you until then.

I’m the mother of Monica Manzo. Monica told me about your loss and how it saddened her so. I would like to send my condolences to especially the mom, dad n Lil sister. I know it’s hard to understand why things happen the way they do but like you mentioned in your script that, God has a purpose on why things happen the way they do. I know it’s difficult to understand at this time of pain. I pray for strength, guidance and love for you and the family. God bless! ????????
