Betty Ann Chauvin Unruh

July 15, 1935 - June 27, 2025

Betty Ann Chauvin Unruh, born on July 15, 1935, in Port Arthur, Texas, has gone to be with our Heavenly Father on June 27, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Pete and Louise Davis from Port Arthur, Texas.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Louise Davis; her brother, J.C. Miller; her first husband, Cindy’s father, James Sidney Chauvin; and her second husband, Don Unruh.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Cindy Chauvin Routt (Joseph); and her sister, Dorothy Jane Crane (Larry). She is forever cherished by her grandchildren, James Scott Chauvin, Caitlyn Hart (Ian), Sydney Routt (Saul), Colleen Rebert (David), and Sarah Routt; as well as her great-grandchildren, Ava Routt, Saige Rebert, Sofia Uriegas, Annie Hart, and Bhodi Rebert, who is arriving in November.

Her memory will live on every time we watch a Cowboys game. She had many favorite sports teams and you would always fine the big game, match, or race of the day playing on her television. She instilled a love of animals in her daughter and grandchildren, especially for horses. Many summer days were spent out in the pasture or bathing the horses. It wasn’t rare to find the grandchildren cleaning out the horses’ stalls while barefoot. They would wash their feet in her bathroom sink before enjoying the sweet tea Granny always had waiting for them.

Family meant everything to Betty. She was always present and wore joy on her face during any family gathering. She ensured you knew you were loved and cared for no matter what.

Betty embodied the unconditional love of Jesus, something all who knew her will continue to carry with them.

A gathering of Betty’s family and friends will be 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of these worthy charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or  Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
