Betty Jean Baggs Clopton
Betty Baggs Clopton, 89, of Port Neches, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 19, 2022. Born July 22, 1933, to Homer and Mildred Baggs, she grew up in the El Vista addition of Port Acres until she graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, Class of 1952. She married the love of her life, Dave L. Clopton Sr., and spent the next 55 years with him until his passing in 2007. Betty loved everyone she came in contact with, but she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ the most, and shared HIS love at any opportunity she had.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Dan Clopton and wife, Lorynda; Bill Clopton, Sr.; and D.L. Clopton, Jr. and wife, Rosanna; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dave Lee Clopton, Sr.; and three siblings, Homer L. Baggs, Jr.; Dessie L. Hoyland; and Billy R. Baggs.
A gathering of Mrs. Clopton’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Clopton’s honor may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 1315 South 27th Street, Nederland, Texas 77627.

I’m so very sorry to hear about your Mother.
She was such a kind and giving person as I remember her plus a very good friend to my Mother; Eloise Bell.
We all had some great memories growing up in Port Acres, First Baptist Church, SFA ????’s, and I am thankful for our Godly Mother’s and the Discipleship they showed us as Children.

Dan, I’m so sorry to hear about your Momma. I loved your Momma and Daddy so very much. She always told me that I was the daughter she always wanted and I told her she was my second Momma.
