Betty Jean Nicholas
Betty Jean Nicholas, 94, of Webster, formerly of Beaumont, died Wednesday, April 3, 2024. She was born on August 5, 1929, in Beaumont to Berneice Stewart and Leo Stevens.
Betty graduated from South Park High School in 1947. She was employed by various companies in Beaumont including Phoenix Furniture and Pitney Bowes. Betty went on to retire from the City of Beaumont, Public Works. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Beaumont and was a proud member of Fidelis Sunday school class.
She was a lifelong resident of Beaumont until she moved to Webster five years ago to be closer to family members. Betty was a very loving and caring person. She was financially adept, independent, and easily attracted friends. Betty loved playing games, among her favorites were Skipbo, Bingo, and Dominoes. Betty was also a very talented seamstress.
Survivors include her children, David Nicholas and his wife, Mary Kaye, of Pearland, and Charlotte Nicholas of Round Rock; grandchildren, Brett Nicholas and his wife, Amy, of Dickinson; Blake Nicholas and his wife, Rosa, of Conroe; Megan Gilbert of Round Rock; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Braiden, Chloe, Axel, Kaitee, Alexa, and Dakota; brother, Jack Stevens and his wife, Nellie, of Bryan; sister, Joan Premeaux of Nederland; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton Nicholas; and brother-in-law, Pete Premeaux.
A gathering of Mrs. Nicholas’ family and friends will begin 1:00 p.m. with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

I am so sorry for your loss. Betty was a special friend of mine. We loved getting together and playing Skipbo .We loved living close to each other.
Mrs. Nicholas was a dear friend of my mother. They were in the same Sunday School Class at Wesley Methodist. After my mom passed away she was a very caring friend to me. We sat together in church and often enjoyed meals together. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends. Rest peacefully Mrs. Nicholas . . .
