Betty Joyce Sirman White
Betty Joyce Sirman White, 91, of Beaumont, died Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born in Beaumont on February 29, 1932, to Elma Warren Sirman and Albert M. Sirman.
Betty grew up in Beaumont in a loving family. She attended Beaumont High School where she was very popular and Lamar University where she made many life-long friends. She was known for her kind and loving nature and optimistic outlook on life. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was a very caring and generous person throughout her life. Her family and friends will always remember her for her sincerity, warm smile and infectious laughter.
Betty was an avid gardener, and she very much enjoyed entertaining her guests with a tour of the rose gardens that were always blooming in her backyard. She also loved the birds that visited her bird feeders, and was very knowledgeable about them, especially her favorite hummingbirds. She spent many hours on her back porch watching the hummingbirds fly back and forth and fight over the feeders. Some of Betty’s favorite experiences were spending time at the beach where she loved to relax with her family and go fishing and crabbing with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed bird watching trips with her sister and best friend, Geraldine “Jerry” Clubb.
She was deeply loved by her family and will be missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include her children, Stephanie Lingor and her husband, Gerald, of Houston; Paul Myrtis Scott and his wife, Monica, of Tucson, Arizona; and Nancy Richardson of Tomball; grandchildren, Brandy Fairley, Heath Luke, Samantha Berry, Reese Richardson, Conrad Richardson, Justin Britton, Courtney Bogle, Jessica Mullen, Lealynn Scott, and Gary McGee; 9 great-grandchildren; and niece, Clara Orr.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William G. White; and sister, Geraldine Clubb.
