Betty Renee Burns

Betty Renee Simmons Burns, best known as Renee, passed away in her sleep on May 2, 2025. She was born on August 23, 1965, in Beaumont, Texas, but spent most of her life and raised her children in Louisiana. She was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church.

Renee is survived by her two sons, Christopher Ray and Jerry ‘JD’ Stutsman II; and her daughter, Candice Leigh. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Angel and Dakota; her sister, Amanda Harrison; and stepbrother Philip, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura Houghton and Robert ‘Bob’ Simmons; stepfather, John Houghton; and her brother, William ‘Bill’ Simmons.

A memorial will be held at Spring Branch Cemetery and her mortal ashes laid to rest. Her cremation arrangements were handled by Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the. direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.

She has gone home to be with God. She is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
