Billie Mae Foster

July 31, 1925 - September 17, 2021

Billie Mae Foster, 96, of Winnie, died Friday, September 17, 2021, at Riceland Hospital, Winnie. She was born July 31, 1925, in Silsbee, to Verna Mae Ennis Cravy and Bill Cravy.

Billie Mae Foster spent her life as a young girl in Silsbee.  From a young age, she lived in a variety of places.  Along the way, she made life-long friends that she stayed in touch with her whole life. Later, she would find the love of her life, her World War II pilot, Elmer Foster.  These two doted and flirted with each other for over 55 years.

Billie loved doing craftwork, sewing, knitting and tending to her flowers. She had several award-winning crafts in state fairs.  Without family close by their home in Georgia nor children of their own, Billie and Elmer became close with the Budner family, who lived next door.  They remained neighbors for over fifty years. Billie loved to brag on the Budner kids and her nieces and nephews, all of whom she treated and loved as her own children.  She also took great pleasure in sending homemade ceramic crafts, afghans, blankets and letters to her nieces and nephews, never forgetting birthdays and special occasions.

Billie and her husband Elmer lived in Marietta, Georgia for the major part of their lives.  After Elmer’s passing into Glory, Billie’s life came full circle: she returned to Texas to be with family until the Lord called her home.

She is survived by her nephews, Ricky, David, and Glenn Cravy; nieces, Jackie Sue Fox, Kathy McDevitt, and Karen Albin; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Billie Mae Foster is preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-five years, Elmer Foster; brothers, Jack and R.V. Cravy; sister, Naomi Supp; and nephews, Ronald and Charlie Cravy.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Church, P.O. Box 387, Winnie, Texas 77665.

A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.

A very Dear Friend , who spoiled us three kids …Donna, Chuck and myself. And very close to my Sister and Brother-in-law Margie & Charles Lindsey. Very Fond memories of her.
