Billie Sue Loftin

October 9, 1934 - October 28, 2021

Billie Sue Loftin went home to be with her Lord and Savior, October 28, 2021. She was a retired employee of the Hardin County Court House. Billie was born in Honey Island, October 9, 1934, to Lula and John Hemby.

Billie was a working mother of two children, Susan and Vic, and loved them unconditionally. She and Forrest lived in Baytown until they divorced when the children were young. She and both the children moved to Silsbee in 1962, where she went to work at the at the Hardin County Clerks office for Clarence McNeely. She rose to the Chief Deputy level at that job, where she retired in 1998.

She is survived by her son, Victor Loftin, of Dallas; grandson, Mark Lassiter of Silsbee; and brother, J.W. Hemby, and his wife, Margaret Anne, of Beaumont; and  great-granddaughters, Madeleine; Sydni; Ryleigh, and Kody Lassiter.

Billie is preceded in death by her  daughter, Susan Bloodworth; parents, Lula and John Hemby; brother, Thomas Hemby; sisters, Verlon Jenkins and Talmadge Dunlap.

A gathering of Mrs. Loftin’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will at follow at RS Farmer Memorial Park, Silsbee.
