Blanca Estela Garcia
Blanca Estela Garcia Gutierrez, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024, at her home in Nederland, Texas. Blanca was born on April 15, 1951, in Reynosa, Mexico, to her parents Manuel Garcia and Maria del Socorro Gutierrez, and was raised in Reynosa alongside her little sister, Aminta.
Blanca was a proud graduate of the School of Nursing in Tampico/Madero, Mexico. Later in life, she acquired her pediatric nursing degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas followed and by an Administrative Nurse certification in Mexico City. She was very loved and adored by her local community and everyone knew her as Blanquita, the very caring pediatric nurse and supervisor at the PEMEX Hospital in Reynosa Tamaulipas.
Later in her life, Blanca was a devoted and affectionate mother and grandmother, a nurturing sister and aunt to her nieces and nephews. She spread her love to everyone she encountered. Blanca was an eccentric woman who enjoyed watching her favorite novelas and indulging in sweet treats anytime she could.
Her laughter was infectious, filling the room with warmth and joy. Friends and family often gathered around her, eager to hear her tales of the past, each story more vibrant and colorful than the last. Blanca had a way of making even the simplest moments feel extraordinary, whether it was through a shared meal, a heartfelt conversation or a crazy tale from the past.
Blanca’s legacy lived on through the traditions she passed down, the recipes she shared, and the values she instilled in her family. Her spirit remained a guiding light, reminding everyone to embrace life with passion, kindness, and a generous heart. to know our “guelis” was to love her.
Survivors include her children, Hugo Ramirez and wife, Josie, and Katinka Arteaga and husband, Arturo; grandchildren, Cesar Ramirez, and his wife, Haley, Leslie Ramirez, Kelsie Ramirez, Arturo Arteaga, Jr., Mia Arteaga, and Miranda Arteaga; great-grandchildren, Harper Ramirez and Charlotte Ramirez; and sister, Aminta Lopez; nieces and nephews, David Lopez, Arturo Lopez, and his wife, Jessica, Aniushka Cal, and her husband, Pavel.
She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Teresita De Jesus Garcia.
A gathering of Ms. Garcia’s family and friends will from 2:00 p.m., until 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
