Blanche “Sissy” Mary Alice Clark
Blanche “Sissy” Mary Alice Clark, 89, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, January 22, 2025. She was born on August 27, 1935, in Ingram, to Veral Newman and Howard Nerland.
Blanche, known by all as “Sissy” was a picture of grace to all that met her and her beautiful smile. She married the love of her life Hebert Clark on August 8, 1959, and to that union four beautiful children Arlene, Mark, Tommye Ann, and Glenn were born.
In her early years, Sissy worked as a secretary, but after Arlene was born, she committed herself to being a homemaker for her growing family. As they grew, the children remember a mother that showed kindness to those in need. Sissy put her love for God into loving people that were less fortunate. This was not limited to the church house, but her benevolence reaching many that lived nearby. The neighborhood was her missionary field, and Sissy would cook and do whatever to meet the needs of her neighbors.
Sissy was gifted in upholstery work and would rework furniture for her household and others. She always loved animals, with her favorite “Teddy Blessing” staying always in her lap for affection.
Sissy & Herbert were long time members of Victory Temple where many knew her as one that would welcome children & youth over for food and fellowship in the Clark home. This love for youth extended to working at Camp Victory in the kitchen where both Sissy & Herbert served the kingdom.
Sissy will be remembered as a woman who loved her family and friends while serving the Lord with a quiet and gentle spirit.
Survivors include her daughters, Arlene Woodall and her husband, Danny, of Woodville and Tommye Ann Clark-Rivers and her husband, Steve of Lumberton; sons, Mark Clark of Woodville and Glenn Clark and his wife, Rachel, of Lumberton; grandsons, Thomas Woodall and Matthew Woodall and his wife, Rose, all of Port Neches; William Drake and his wife, Keilah, of Orange, and Erik Clark of Lumberton; granddaughters, Amanda Coplen of Cypress and Tori Drake of Lumberton; great-grandchildren, Mason and John Coplen and Emerie and Ayla Drake; and numerous extended family, love ones, and friends through the years.
