Bluet “Butch” Doyle, Jr.
Butch Doyle, 77, of Silsbee, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 7, 2025. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on August 28, 1947, to Bluet Doyle and Hazel Harrell Doyle. Butch was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas. After graduation, he attended San Jacinto Junior College.
After working various jobs, he worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone as a service technician and was past owner of Motorama Speedway on Highway 90 in Beaumont.
Butch was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed golfing, playing basketball, hunting, fishing, car racing, water skiing, and snow skiing. He loved watching sports on television, playing chess with his son, Ben, and loved his dog, Fred.
In 1981, Butch met his wife, Beth. When he found out that she had parachuted out of an airplane, he knew he had found someone with a sense of adventure. They were married in 1982 and have now been together 42 years. They love to travel and have been to Yellowstone, Alaska, New York City, Tennessee, Georgia, Washington State, Colorado, and Paris, France, along with other fun places. Most of the places they traveled to were due to their son-in-law, Patrick, being stationed there by the United States Army. Patrick and Brooke have taken Butch and Beth on adventures everywhere they have lived.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bluet Doyle; mother, Hazel Doyle; sister, Ann Faulk and her husband, Lee; and a baby girl, Sally Doyle.
Survivors include his wife, Beth; son, Ben; daughter, Brooke Nguyen and her husband, Patrick and their daughter, Leela Nguyen; sister, Gayle Tipps and her husband, Nolan; nieces, Dana Tipps Alexander and her husband, Tim, and Cherise Oliver, and her husband, Jeff; and great-nephews, Camron Alexander; Conner Alexander and his wife, Brianna; Justin Schnurbusch; Brian Schnurbusch and his wife, Keristin, and their two daughters, Aly Myers and Hannah Myers.
A gathering of Mr. Doyle’s family and friends will begin 1:00 p.m. with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
