Bonnie Lee Mallet Petkovsek

April 3, 1962 - November 7, 2024

On the evening of Thursday, November 7, 2024, Heaven received the beautiful soul of Bonnie Lee Mallet Petkovsek.

Bonnie Petkovsek was born on April 3, 1962, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Concetta P. Mallet and Norris Mallet. She was joined by her twin sister, Connie, eight minutes later and from that moment forward they were inseparable. Bonnie grew up in Beaumont, Texas, with her mother and four sisters. She was a 1980 Graduate of South Park High School and went on to graduate from Lamar University with a Bachelor’s of Business Degree.  Bonnie met and married the love of her life, David L. Petkovsek, whom she would have been married to for 43 years on November 21.  This date also held a very special meaning for Bonnie because she was there to witness the birth of her precious nephew and Godson, Caleb Barclay Thomasson, on November 21, 2000.

Bonnie had a keen mind and a sharp wit and could banter with the best of them, especially her brother-in-law, Bart. Bonnie had a wonderful sense of humor and brought much love and laughter to her family and friends. She had such a giving heart, always thinking of others and remembering them on birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions with thoughtfully written cards, gifts or personal phone calls. She truly had a way with words. She was always there to listen and offer a kind word of encouragement to anyone who needed it. Bonnie was a bright light in this world and to those who loved her.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her mother, Concetta P. Hargroder; her sister, Margaret M. Mallet; her grandparents; her mother and father-in-law, Lois and Jerry Petkovsek; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her husband, David L. Petkovsek; sisters, Janet Sterling and husband, Jimmy Sterling; Connie Thomasson and husband, Bart Thomasson; Carol Hargroder; sisters-in-law, Karen Petkovsek and Katy Bernsen and her husband, Kelly; Godson, Nathan Parigi and wife, Jennifer; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces; and great-nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741 give online ; MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O.
