Bonnie Smart

Bonnie Mae Smart, 78, of Kountze, died Monday, September 21, 2020. She was born on February 16, 1942, in Honey Island, to Mildred Geneva Rhodes Lewis and Walter Lee Lewis.

Survivors include her children, Otis Von Smart and Patricia Gail Smart, both of Kountze; Joe Earl Smart of Silsbee; Roy Gene Smart and his wife, Rose; and Larry Dale Smart and his wife, Jennifer, all of Kountze; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger Dale Lewis, Ronnie Lewis, and Joe Lewis; and her sister, Geneva Acres.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Von Smart; parents; grandson, Josh Conner; daughter, Shirley Ann Soileau; son, Jerry Smart; sisters, Brenda Flowers and Martha Rowell; and her brother, Walter Gene Lewis.

A gathering of Mrs. Smart’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Hooks Cemetery, Kountze.
