Bonnie Yvette Marsh

June 15, 1950 - January 11, 2023

Bonnie Yvette Marsh, 72, of Beaumont, passed away on Wednesday January 11, 2023. Bonnie was born on June 15, 1950, to Bonnie Belle Prejean and William Jackson DuBose. She spent her early years growing up in the Beaumont area. Bonnie contracted Polio at the age of 2 but that never stopped her from living life.

One of her favorite pastimes was a road trip during the day or at midnight. She loved to ride the ferry or sit on beach.  She was told by many, many of her friends that she should have been a tugboat captain because she would go to river front park and watch for ships. She would take pictures of each ship, she would look up the history and the origin of the ship and she would then track it to its destination

After graduating from Bishop Byrne high school, she went to Delgado University before going to study art at Northwestern State University, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.

Bonnie loved spending time with her family and friends, as well as her animals. She was known for being passionate about many things and had so many talents. Bonnie loved to crochet a variety of one-of-a-kind items that varied from blankets to baby clothing and stuffed animals. If she wasn’t busy crocheting, she was showing off her artistic abilities. Charcoal drawings and Pastel paintings were a few of her favorites.

Bonnie always had a love for an adventure. She loved to travel the world, a few of her favorite places are Hawaii, Alaska, and anywhere with a body of water. She would refer to it as her “water therapy”. Even a good thunderstorm was considered her water therapy. While traveling Bonnie loved to learn of new cultures and was always up for trying new foods. Regardless of where she was, as long as she was traveling with her children, she was happy.

Bonnie was a giving, caring, and selfless soul. She loved her family more than anyone could imagine. She adored her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her brother, and sisters. She fought her battle of life to the very end and held on as long as she could. We would all agree and say that she won.

Survivors include her children, Jack Marsh of Houston; Mike Marsh and his partner, Geovanni Martinez, of Beaumont; and Danielle Schell and her husband, Christopher, of Richmond; grandbabies, Rebekah Gonzalez and her husband, Jeremy; Christian Miciotto, Matthew Miciotto, Lauren Baxter and her husband, John Kyle, and Natalee Schell; great-grandbabies, Ryan, Avery, Eleanor “Ellie”, Carter, and Julia; siblings, Jackie Benoit, Gigi Bock, and Jené DuBose; dogs, Cooper, Phoebe, and Blanche; and numerous extended family members, friends, and loved ones through the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William J. DuBose and Bonnie Belle DuBose; her sister, Jonnie Naizer; and brother, Bill DuBose.

A gathering of Ms. Marsh’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Immediately following the visitation please join the family at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, in the Parish Hall for a celebration of life reception from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, 2050 Spindletop Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77705 or End Polio Now at www.endpolio.org

I met your mom when we were neighbors on Driftwood. We spent so many afternoons watching you Mike Danielle and Christy just being kids in a time when friends sat outside til dark and talked about everything I was so lucky to get to see her again recently and reminisce with her again
She talked about how much she loved all of you and how much you all meant to her. She is probably in heaven holding those back yard talks again. She will be missed.

    Jack Marsh says:

I would love to reconnect and reminisce as well. She often would tell us stories about that time with you all.

My deepest sympathy for the passing of your beloved Mother. I am part of the early grade school era at St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Port Neches. Memories began in the first grade. I will cherish her beautiful spirit forever. I live in MN and last saw her and Jonnie at our last high school reunion : there also with Peggy Hill. Now that was some special weekend! We stayed in contact in an especially close way knowing how life is so fragile and precious. Now the closeness is even tighter. Sister soul friends forever. Mary Collins Ammermann
