Bradford Freeman

Bradford Earl “Brad” Freeman, 93, of Nederland, went to his eternal home on September 27, 2022. He was born July 23, 1929, at home in a sawmill camp near Fred, Texas to Dula Denby Freeman and Thomas Lee Freeman.

Brad was a United States Army veteran having served from 1951 until 1956. He married the love of his life, Joy Laird Freeman, in 1953 and they were happily married for fifty-seven years. In 1988, Brad retired from Unocal refinery after thirty-five years of service.

Brad was a devoted follower of Christ and a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, Nederland. He enjoyed taking vacations with his family, spending time at the lake and fishing, and playing dominos.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Estes and husband, Doug, of Nederland; Janet Swearingen and husband, Steve, of Silsbee; and Wanda Lovelady and husband, Michael, of Nederland; grandchildren, Jennifer Tucker and husband, Ryan; Rachael Litt and husband, T.J.; Kyle Swearingen and wife, Amanda; Kevin Lovelady; Jason Lovelady; and Ashley Lovelady Koch and husband, George; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Cade, Ayden, Kyler, Kethan, Konnor, Evelyn, Savannah, Logan, Hunter, and Mila; many nieces and nephews; and many friends all of which will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joy Freeman; daughter, Rhonda; brothers, Thomas, Millard, and Marrelle Freeman; and sisters, Mozelle Broussard and Nettie Lee Felps.

A gathering of Mr. Freeman’s family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12^th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2022, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at 2:00 p.m., at Baker-Bell Cemetery, Warren, Texas.
