Brenda Maureen Richard
Brenda Maureen Richard, 77, of Hemphill, died Wednesday, December 25, 2024. She was born on September 28, 1947, to Velma Rose Wiggins Bartle and Alfred Bartle.
Her survivors include her husband, William Henry Richard; daughters, Darlene Thomas and her husband, Trent; and Kimberly Hernandez, and her husband, Reagan, all from Lumberton; grandchildren, Candace Gore and her husband, Mitch, of Evadale; Caleb Thomas and his wife, Kelsay, of Port Acres; Gage Hernandez of Austin; Carley Causey; Addison Hernandez; and Cambrie Thomas, all from Lumberton.
Stepchildren, William Henry Richard, Jr. and his wife, JoAnne, of Haslett; and Julie Clower and her husband, Terry, of the D.C area, Washington; step-grandchildren, Robin Kay Richard, and Liam Richard, both of Hasslett.
Great-grandchildren, Steele Gore, Tynleigh Gore, Adalyne Causey, Dawson Thomas, and Lainey Faye Thomas; sweet fur baby, Molly.
Only niece, Gayle Sandifer (like sisters) and her husband, Glenn, of Clearlake; great nieces, Wendy Miller and her husband, J.R.; and Betsy Walker and her husband, Cory; great-great nieces, Morgan Miller, Taylor Walker, and Katrina Bland; and great-great nephews, Eric Bland, Nicky Bland and Jonathan Bland.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Bobbie “My Bob” Jean Bland; brother in-law, William “Daddy Bill” Bland, who was always like a brother, not a brother in-law; and nephew, William Walton Bland, III (like a brother).
A gathering of Mrs. Richard’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2024, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium. Her cremated remains will be laid to rest at Old Hardin Cemetery next to her mom and dad, Velma Rose Bartle and Alfred Bartle.

I am so saddened by the loss of my very special, dear friend. So many happy memories of growing up together, playing dolls, slumber parties. We were always there to support and understand and love each other. ….Until we’re together again.
I am saddened about the passing of my beloved childhood friend. I have so many rich memories of our growing up together. She and her family and her family were such a positive influence on my life.
I am comforted because she is with our precious Jesus in the exquisite eternal home our God has prepared for us. Goodbye for now dear forever friend Brenda. Prayers for her family.
Brenda’s family and husband, I am very sorry about the loss of your mother and wife. I graduated with Brenda and she was a sweet sincere caring person. May God give you peace during your loss and may her memories bring you blessings in the years to come. I will not be able to attend her service as I have a Doctor appt at 10 am in Lufkin, but my thoughts will be with you and your family.🙏🙏
