Brenda Sue Smith
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Sue Smith. Brenda was born to Leon A. Smith and Martha Smith on December 4, 1953, and departed this life on March 20, 2026.
Brenda lived a life filled with warmth, love, and the sweet aroma of baking. A true homemaker at heart, she poured her passion into creating a loving home for her family and friends. Her culinary talents were legendary, particularly her cooking and baking skills. From the simplest comfort foods of deviled eggs to elaborately decorated cakes, Brenda’s creations were a testament to her love and care.
Before her retirement, Brenda brightened countless days as a waitress in various restaurants. Her friendly smile and genuine warmth made every customer feel welcome and valued.
Brenda’s greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones. Family and friends were the cornerstones of her life, and she cherished every moment shared, every laugh, and every memory made.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Leon A. Smith and Martha Smith, her daughter, Robin Faggard, her granddaughter, Brooke Galicia, her husband, Tommy Sumners, her sister, Alice Gennussa, brothers, Leon A Smith Jr., George Reed, Michael Ling, and Clyde Reed and niece, Kim Voight.
Brenda is survived by her partner Charles Ardoin; sons, Bobby Galicia and wife, Amy, of Silsbee, Douglas Gage and wife, Minh, of Beaumont, and Allen Gage and wife, April, of Bridge City. Her grandkids Taylor Galicia, Aspen Galicia, Ava Gage, Archer Gage, Austin Douglas, Kaelyn Guillory, Karsyn Guillory; her brother, Mugs Smith and wife, Roxanne, Nieces Tammy Bage, Gerri Alfaro (Mickey), Stacy Faught, and Coleen Jennings; nephews, Robert Reed, Shawn Reed, Michael Ling, Wesley Ling (Scooter), and Carlan Smith.
Brenda Sue Smith will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and delicious treats will forever remain in our hearts.
A gathering of Mrs. Smith’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2026, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Mrs. Smith’s cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
