Bridget Hain Teare
Bridget Hain Teare died October 25, 2021, at home surrounded by family and friends from a recent illness, not COVID related. Bridget was born on March 2, 1955, to Joseph Maxwell Teare, Sr. and Erin Barry Teare. She was the sixth child of six and was known as our “Texas Princess” due to the fact she was born on Texas Independence Day.
Bridget graduated from St. Anne Catholic School where she was a varsity cheerleader, played softball, volleyball, and was on the staff of the school newspaper, “The Annette”. She graduated from Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School in 1973, where she was on the Drill Team, in Ballet Troupe, staff writer on “The Medallion”, voted Winter Queen and Best Looking her senior Year. She attended North Texas State University, majoring in communication. She moved to Houston and started her career in Property management, which covered a span of over thirty years.
Bridget’s greatest accomplishment was being the best Aunt to her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Her first niece who was named for her referred to her as the “Bee’s Knees”. She adored them and they her. Her door was always opened to them when they came to Houston for the Rodeo, Concerts, a play at the Wortham Theater, Under the Stars, or weekend at the Houstonian. She was a free spirit who loved life and her many friends she had in Houston and Beaumont. She will be missed by them all.
Survivors include her siblings; Erin Teare Rienatra; Joseph Maxwell Teare, Jr. and his wife, Gay; and Kathleen McDade Teare; nieces and nephews; Bridget McLaurin (Neil); Barry Gaines (Greg); Kathleen Croley (Jason); Josh Teare(Pebbles); Eleanor Teare; Hannah Young (Justin); Katie Whatley (Rick); Sara Young; Megan Thompson(Robbie); Sean Teare (Lauren); and her seventeen great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Joseph Maxwell Teare, Sr. and Erin Barry Teare; twin brothers, Patrick, and Michael Teare; brother, James Christian Teare; and brother, John Barry Teare.
Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Rebecaa Lane and Deborah Rogers, who began as caretakers and ended as devoted friends.
A Celebration of Life for Ms. Teare will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 1335 Drummond, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.

Bridget was My Best Friend for over 40 years. We met at a restaurant called The Great Mine Company in the 70’s. I was working there as a waitress. I was on shift that night and took a minute to go to the Powder Room to freshen up. I tried to open the door, but it was stuck. Someone was also pulling that door on the inside trying to get out. I released the door handle, and she flew out and we literally ran into each other. We couldn’t stop laughing. Something clicked between us instantly. It was True Friendship at First Sight. We got together and stayed together through the years. EVERYTHING was hysterical between us. We laughed at somethin’ outta nothin’. We could look at each other and bust out laughing. I have incredible stories about Bridge stored in my memories.
Her nickname from me was “Miss Scarlett”. It was Perfect. Bridget was The One who coined my Nickname, “Queenie”. This name was unbeknownst to me UNTIL….She stood up in the Bar in Houston’s Restaurant and made a Toast to the whole crowd saying very loudly, “Hi Ya’ll! I want you to meet my friend “Queenie”! THEN, she hollers out “She’s Single too!” Well, here comes the Champagne and some funny notes from some guys with their phone numbers! OMG! Two Southern Wild Belles…I knew then, as I know to this day…. Bridget Teare will always be with me, Today, Tomorrow, and Forever. I Love You, Miss Scarlett. I’ll see you in Heaven.
So sorry to hear of Bridget’s passing. I like many of the other girls, grew up with her and just lived a couple of streets away.
We all went to St. Anne’s and always had fun together.

I was so shocked to hear of Bridget’s passing. She and I were classmates and friends since Kindergarten at Sallie Curtis, St. Anne’s and Msgr. Kelly High. We were also neighbors so there were many bike rides around Beaumont together. I was glad to have gotten to see her when we got together for a “St. Anne’s Girls” reunion recently.
Bridgett was a wonderful person caring and thoughtful. She will be missed. Sorry to hear in this way but family be strong each and every passing day Bridgett have have wanted that because she was that way. Erin so sorry but be cheerful because there is no more suffering gone to be with the Lord.
I learned of Bridget’s death over the weekend from a mutual friend. I’m very sad to hear about her passing. It had been way too long since we had seen each other. She was one of the sweetest, kindest and most generous people I have ever known. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. My thoughts and prayers are with Erin and the rest of the family.
Teare family: I’m so sorry to hear about Bridget. We were at St. Anne’s together and she was a very dear friend. So full of life and laughter. Thankful for the St. Anne reunion so we could see each other again. May God be with her family and friends during this difficult time.

Dearest Teare family, I am so very sorry for your loss of sweet Bridget. She was a bright and shining light. We went to Kelly high school together. May your hearts be comforted by all of the wonderful memories of Bridget. May her precious Spirit fly free.
Bridge was my “partner in crime” (she, definitely the lead) during our St. Anne days. I am certain we annoyed many with our endless schemes including the nuns. Bridge was pure fun 24-7. She taught me how to laugh at the least of funny. None of her challenges ever diminished her concern for others, her generous spirit, or strong Catholic faith. Rest in peace my dear, sweet Bridget and thank you for the memories I will always treasure.
