Carl Colicher, Jr.
Carl Colicher, Jr., 87, of Lumberton, died Sunday, January 8, 2023. He was born on February 27, 1935, in Port Arthur, to Maybell Ruth Narretta and Carl Colicher, Sr.
In his youth, Carl drove an ambulance and worked at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. He founded and owned Carl’s Johnnie On-The-Spot and BC Vacuum Service, Inc. Carl was a 33rd Degree Master Mason and a member of Lumberton Masonic Lodge #1430. He will forever remain a loving husband, father, and pawpaw.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Betty Colicher of Lumberton; sons, Curtis Colicher and his wife, Crystal, of Lumberton and Greg Kennedy and his wife, Julie, of Port Neches; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; great-great-grandson; brother, Corbett Wayne Colicher of Port Arthur; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Donald Edward, James Brian, and Mark Wayne Kennedy, Sr.; and daughter, Roxie Ann Struebing.
Memorial contributions for Mr. Colicher may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, PO Box 947765, Atlanta Georgia 30394.
A gathering of Mr. Colicher’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a memorial service for to follow at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

Very sorry to hear of Carl’s passing. I just now found out while browsing Broussard’s obituaries; otherwise I would have attended his funeral. I first met Carl when I was a kid about 10 years old; (about 58 years ago) over at Teddy Bryant’s race car shop off Blanchette Street here in Beaumont. Carl was friendly, comical, and a lot of fun to be around. We messed with race cars for many years as Carl did as well. Once again, please accept my condolences.
Sorry to hear of Carl’s passing. He was such a kind man and I will have fond memories of him when he would come in to visit us at the City permit office.
