Carol Ann Franssen

January 25, 1942 - May 3, 2023

Carol Ann Franssen, 81, of The Woodlands, died Wednesday, May 3, 2023.  She was born on January 25, 1942, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to Eleanor Spellacy Berry and George Berry.

Mrs. Franssen was an avid reader and a New York Giants fan.  She loved to garden and spend time with her dog, Parker.  Being around her family was her greatest joy.  She loved Christmas in Texas and summers spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Andrew Burks and his wife, Janet, of Silsbee and David Franssen and his wife, Gladys, of Lufkin; grandchildren, Christina Kirkendall and her husband, Brandon, of Evadale; Elizabeth Sterling and her husband, Joey, of Silsbee; Stephanie Ann Jones of Lumberton; and William Short and Olivia Bromley and her husband, of Matthew, all of Austin; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Phyllis Reinhardt and her husband, Rap, of New Jersey and Janet Berry of Maine. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin Randall Franssen; son, Doug Franssen; and sister, Jeanne Henry.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, with a reception immediately following at the Andrew Burks’ home.  Her committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
