Carolyn Erwin

March 20, 1947 - June 25, 2022

Carolyn Erwin, 75, of Beaumont, died Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Silsbee Oaks Health Care. She was born on March 20, 1947, in Beaumont, to Mary Sanford Flanakin and Buel Buford Flanakin.

Carolyn retired from the City of Beaumont Fleet Department, as a data entry clerk, after many years of service. She was an avid reader and loved dancing and watching old movies.  Carolyn was a loyal and loving friend and adored her grandchildren.  She will always be remembered as a loving mother and Nana.

Survivors include her daughters, Michelle Monroe and her husband, Mike, of Sour Lake and Amy Williams and her husband, Travis, of Porter; granddaughters, Paige Delahoussaye of Denver, Colorado; Jessica Cormier and her husband, Corbin, of Houston; and Megan Delahoussaye of Houston; great-grandchildren, Carter, Jackson, and Chase; and nephew, Matt Flanakin of Pearland. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dale Wayne Flanakin; and a nephew, Kristian Wayne Flanakin.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Silsbee Oaks Health Care for their compassionate care.

A gathering of Ms. Erwin’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Broussard’s, 409 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her interment will follow at Knupple Cemetery, Silsbee.

Memorial contributions, in honor of Ms. Erwin, may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 700 North Street, Suite M, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
