Carolyn attended school in Beaumont until high school.  Beginning with high school, she attended Vidor High where she was a cheerleader all four years.  She attended Lamar Tech and then married the love of her life, George Larry Turner, on November 21, 1959.  They were married 66 years but in love 68 years. In their marriage, they traveled to Germany where he was in the US Army.  Upon their return, she raised their children and worked for various companies.  In 1982, she started Private Collections Gift & Decorating.  She loved this business helping others and owned it until her health failed.

Carolyn was involved in the Beaumont Junior League where she used her talents in various roles to make a difference in the Beaumont Community.  She truly loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as her savior.  She loved and adored her friends, her children and the biggest blessings were the birth and time spent with her grandchildren. She was so proud of them. During her illness, her husband was her salvation, and she depended on him 100% percent of the time.  Her face lit up when he was around, and she told him I love you several times a day.
