Charles Bruno
Charles James Bruno, 79 of Beaumont, Texas passed away peacefully May 26, 2022, at Harbor Hospice. He was born on August 4, 1942 to Ina Capo Bruno and Pete Charles Bruno in Beaumont, Texas.
Growing up Charles was an incredible athlete and avid sports fan. Later in life he was blessed with 6 athletic grandsons. You could always find him in the stands at one their games where he was in his glory.
Charles had a smile that would light up a room and a contagious laugh that was unforgettable to all who knew him. He was a selfless man with a heart of gold.
Charles was employed by J. Weingarten for 30 years until the company sold out. He remained in the grocery business for many years. He later worked for Pure Play Orthopedics. Upon retirement, Charles went to work for Broussard’s Mortuary where he was currently employed.
He is survived by Mary Ann Bruno; daughters, Ina and her husband, David and Charlotte and her husband, Tommy; six grandsons that were his pride and joy, Matthew and his wife, Jessica; Taylor Pace; Andrew Pace; William Miller; Jonathan Miller; Patrick Miller; and great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Kate Pace.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Ina Bruno and angel baby grandson, Christopher Charles Miller.
A gathering of Charles’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson, Beaumont. His entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Saying goodbye is never easy. Recently as I read through the comments on Dad’s obituary from friends and family on Broussard’s website my eyes welled up with tears. It’s not often that friends and acquaintances see someone in the same perspective as their family. Dad truly was a diamond in the rough. He was a kind selfless, southern gentleman and everyone knew it. We love him big and were not ready to let him go. We find comfort in knowing that Dad is at peace. Your kind words lighten our heavy hearts, thank you all. You will never know how much each of your sweet comments mean to Mom, Ina, and Me.

To Mary Ann, Ina Kay, Charlotte & family, Chuck & I are so very sorry for your loss! The last time I saw Charles, he remembered me and was so pleasant, as always. May his soul & all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen
We have already been missing Charles’ presence since his stroke and are saddened to hear that he has passed. I truly enjoyed working with Charley at Broussards and loved his stories and laughter. He was one of the easiest men to work with in a company of good men.
I pray God’s comfort and blessings on Mary Ann, his daughters and grandsons.

I loved being around and working with Charles. He had a great outgoing personality and super work ethic. Our deepest condolences to Mary Ann and the entire family.

So thankful I had the pleasure of working with and getting to know Mr. Bruno. He was always ready to tell a story and I always ready to listen. His laugh was my absolute favorite thing about him. Sending my love to his family. He will be sorely missed.

Mr. Bruno will be greatly missed. I only worked with him for a short time, but he taught me so much about being a funeral associate. I am fortunate to have worked with him for my first service. He was patient with me and always willing to answer any questions I had. My sincere condolences to the family.
So very sorry for your loss. Tommy so loved working with Charles. There was hardly ever a story he told about Broussards where Bruno wasn’t mention. They both had a common interest in there grandsons and their sports. I’m sure Tommy will be waiting up above with open arms waiting to catch up with his good friend!
I have known Charles all my life but I didn’t really get to know the real Charles until we started working at Broussard’s. Charles was such a hard worker, he wasn’t afraid of work. He had a great sense of humor and we always joked around with each other. We got along well and I will surely miss him. I loved him like a brother. He will truly be missed at Broussard’s. May he Rest In Peace. Prayers are with the family.
I met and played baseball with Charley when we were about 13-15 years old. good player and a fine young man. Prayers for his famly.

I can hear Mr. Bruno calling my name. An exceptional associate, who would do anything asked of him, and a gentleman, in every respect. We will all miss his great sense of humor, and easy demeanor.

Mr. Bruno was genuinely a ray of sunshine! He always had a smile on his face and the best sense of humor. His presence has been deeply missed and we are so saddened to hear of his passing.
