Charles Dill
Charles Everett Dill, 92, of Silsbee, died Sunday, January 15, 2023. He was born on January 18, 1930, in Silsbee, to Ada Harvard Dill and E. E. Dill. He proudly served his county in the United States Navy from August 6,1946 until December 9, 1949.
After the Navy Charles began employment with Sears Roebuck in 1950 until 1952. He then went on to work for Gulfco in 1952, Sheppard Laundry in 1953, Rush Drilling Co. from 1953-1954, OH TV from 1954-1955, and he returned to Gulfco from August 26, 1955 until February 1, 1992. After he left Gulfco he worked for Burns from May 1993 until May 1994.
Survivors include his grandsons, Scott Dill and his wife, Shae, of Lumberton and Kent Dill, Jr., of Silsbee; great-grandchildren, Bailey Dill, Bryce Orsak, Kalysta Dill, and Theron Dill; sister, Dorothy Gleitz of Houston; stepdaughter, Jan Whittington and her husband, Charles Wayne, of Kountze; niece, Daphne Rashall of Crosby; numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Vivian Dill; second wife, Alice Dill; son, Kent Dill; siblings, Herman Dill, Beatrice Dill Ashworth Ward, Willie Dill, Ruby Dill White, and Opel McMillan.
A gathering of Mr. Dill’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2023, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Morse Cemetery, Buna.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Brother Charles’ family. He and his wife, Sister Alice, were such a sweet couple and we enjoyed worshipping with them at the FPC-Silsbee. We are so sorry for your loss. Shirley Cook
One of the best men I’ll ever know! One wonderful uncle! He was a true example of a gentleman. Never heard him raise his voice in anger but got his point across. Loved his family so dearly.

There are no words. “Uncle Charlie” was always spoken of fondly and the few times I got to interact with him, he was simply a wonderful man. My condolences to his immediate family, and to those who have been blessed with having in him in their lives.
You fought the good fight, Uncle Charlie. Now it’s time to rest and let your spirit fly to that good place where my Dad surely met you with open arms and the rest of your family met you with great joy! Thank you, Daphne, for always keeping track of the Dills and letting me know when there was news. Daphne and Aunt Dorothy, hug each other BIG and know it was from me. Love you both.
