Charles Glen Y’Barbo

April 11, 1939 - May 4, 2025

Charles Glen Y’Barbo, 86, died Sunday, May 4, 2025.

Charles was born April 11, 1939, to Ellis and Nova Y’Barbo in Chireno Texas.

He worked as a young child which gave him his strong work ethic. Charles joined the Airforce at 17 years old and stayed in service for twelve years. He learned his trade as being an electrician while in service. When he left the Airforce, he went to work for companies that allowed him to travel the world. He did this for several years only to return home and finish out his working years at Big Hill.

Charles loved outdoors and fishing. He looked forward to the biannual trip to the mountain in Nacogdoches to help maintain the family cemetery. After he retired, he and Ruby went on several wonderful trips through the US.

His greatest loves were his wife, Ruby, and his family. He loved visits and telling old stories.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; daughters, Becky Zunker and Michelle Rye; sons, Charles (Bubba) Y’Barbo Jr. and Mark Y’Barbo; stepson, Frank Fuller; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory Y’Barbo; brothers, Thomas Y’Barbo, Richard Y’Barbo, and Roy Dennis Y’Barbo; and sister, Darlene Kelcher.

Mr. Charles was a sweet neighbor. We all referred to him as uncle Charles. He and aunt Ruby moved to Labelle several years ago, it has been a great pleasure having them here. We will take care of aunt Ruby. May you rest in peace with no more pain and suffering. Rip uncle Charles 🙏
