Cherryl “Joanie” Joan Smart
Cherryl “Joanie” Joan Smart, 70, of Silsbee, died Friday, May 20, 2022. She was born on July 7, 1951, to Eloise “Baby Doll” Gore Bean and Maxie Maxwell Bean. She retired as the secretary of Kirby Elementary School.
Survivors include her children, Stephanie Ryan and her husband, Patrick, of Silsbee and Shannon Smart and his wife, Amy, of Kountze; grandchildren, Taylor Byrum and his wife, Christa, of Lumberton; Abbygail Smart of Kountze; Hagen Smart of Silsbee; Rylan Smart of Kountze; and Brady Ryan of Silsbee; great-grandchildren, Hadlee and Talon Byrum; and sister, Sandra Bean Johnson and her husband, Lucky, of Temple. Joanie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Smart; and brother, Donnie Bean.
A gathering of Mrs. Smart’s family and friends will begin 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Cunningham Cemetery, Silsbee.
