Chesley “Buddy” Pope
Mr. Chesley “Buddy” Pope, of Beaumont was born on October 21, 1933, in Corsicana, Texas, to parents, Myrtle Dillard and Venoy Pope. He left this world on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont to join our Heavenly Father alongside his wife, Patricia Pope, and their daughter, Luandrea “Andy” Pope, who both proceeded him in death.
He started his career with Magnolia Oil in Corsicana, Texas, and in the 1960’s moved to Beaumont Texas where he started work with Mobil Chemical. His career took him to the farthest reaches of the world which included Italy, Germany, and Saudi Arabia. His hobbies included gardening, tinkering, cooking, boating, and raising cattle.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia Pope of Beaumont and Samuel Pope of Lumberton; granddaughter, Cherie Eubanks and husband, Zachary, of Galveston.
A graveside service for Mr. Pope will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Mitchell Cemetery, Weirgate, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Harbor Hospice of Beaumont.

Rest In Peace Buddy. Worked with Buddy in Saudi Arabia in the early 90’s. Loved Blue Bell ice cream and always said “don’t do it all today or you won’t have anything to do tomorrow”. Well Buddy enjoy all the ice cream you want. You are with God.
You will be greatly missed. You are one of a kind from the Greatest Generation ❤️
